The owner of his own dental practice in Elizabethtown, New York, since 1989, Dr. Peter Mehr continues to develop his clinical expertise. A member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry, he completes an average of 100 continuing education hours per year. Dr. Mehr has studied at several institutes of advanced dental study, including The Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, Florida, and the Kois Center in Seattle, Washington.

Dr. Peter Mehr received his DDS from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., in 1985. He graduated with clinical honors, having completed two public health internships. Prior to earning his dental degree, Dr. Mehr earned a Bachelor’s degree in Pre-Dentistry at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and an Associate degree in Dental Laboratory Technology at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan.

In 1985, Dr. Peter Mehr entered practice as an Associate with Michael Dick, DMD, in Rutland, Vermont. After a year, he accepted another Associate position, working under Sherry Albert, DDS, of Schroon Lake, New York. In 1989, he opened a private practice in Elizabethtown, where he continues to care for patients. In addition to clinical dentistry services, Dr. Mehr offers patients the option of enteral conscious sedation.

Dr. Peter Mehr regularly donates his time to patients in need in his community and abroad. He has undertaken missionary dental work in Jamaica, participated in the New York State Dental Association’s Children’s Dental Health Month screenings, and served on the board of Essex County, New York’s preschool dental screening program.
